Woltemade Gets 7.5, Gordon With 7 | Newcastle United Players Rated In Tough Loss Vs Brighton | OneFootball

Newcastle United clashed heads with Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Community Stadium earlier today as they hoped to secure a good result away from home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a good start to the game but conceded the opening goal in the 41st minute when Danny Welbeck found the back of the net. Eddie Howe’s men went into the half-time break 1-0 down on the scoreline.

Nick Woltemade equalised for the Magpies in the 76th minute, but Welbeck ended up scoring again in the 84th minute as Newcastle crashed to a tough 2-1 loss away from home.

He made a few solid saves at the back but failed to keep a clean sheet.

RB: Kieran Trippier – 6.5/10

Trippier struggled to keep things solid inside his half but was a threat at times going forward.

He did his fair share of defending, but it was not enough today.

CB: Sven Botman – 6/10

Botman put his foot through the ball when he could, but failed to keep Danny Welbeck quiet.

LB: Dan Burn – 6.5/10

Burn gave a good account of himself defensively but lacked quality in the final third.

CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 6.5/10

He managed to shine at times on both ends of the field.

CM: Sandro Tonali – 6.5/10

Tonali worked hard at the centre of the park but failed to make a difference going forward.

CM: Joelinton – 6/10

He came back to defend when he could, but failed to impress in the Brighton half.

RW: Anthony Elanga – 6/10

Elanga was quiet for most of his time on the field.

ST: Nick Woltemade – 7.5/10

He was a real handful for the opposition centre-backs and did well to score the equaliser in the 76th minute.

LW: Anthony Gordon – 7/10

Gordon caused a lot of headaches for the opposition defenders but failed to get his name on the scoresheet.
