Liverpool struck twice in the first half to beat Wolves 2-1. Santiago Bueno reduced the deficit, but his effort proved only a consolation.

According to Molineux.news, the defeat felt familiar, though the second half showed fight and desire.

The Old Gold were arguably the stronger side after the interval, leaving both winners and losers.

Mateus Mane, making his first Premier League start at 18, was a clear bright spot. He led Wolves for attempts with four and played with notable bravery.

Tolu Arokodare has been unfortunate not to feature more, with his profile appearing to suit this side more than Jorgen Strand Larsen. Rob Edwards still cannot get Wolves firing in the final third.

Strand Larsen made little impression after coming on, recording only four touches across 28 minutes plus added time. Hugo Bueno returned from a minor injury, but the comeback did not unfold as hoped.
