Fosun reported a revenue decline of about £2 billion, nearly 10 per cent, in its latest annual results. The owner of Wolverhampton Wanderers posted nearly £19 billion of revenue in 2025 and operating profit of around £438 million.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 2025 figures compare with £21 billion of revenue and about £555 million of profit in 2024. Wolves separately recorded a £15.3 million loss for 2024/25 in newly published accounts.

The Shanghai-based group said a book loss of roughly £2.5 billion came from non-cash impairments, mainly real estate valuations and non-core assets, and did not affect operations or cash flow. It reiterated a plan to streamline and focus on core businesses.

Fosun pointed to steady fundamentals in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, insurance and finance. Its four core subsidiaries generated around £14 billion, 74 per cent of revenue, while overseas revenue was about £10.4 billion, 54.7 per cent of the total, up 5.4 per cent year on year.

Chairman Guo Guangchang told shareholders the impairments reflected prudence and apologised for missing profit expectations, adding that core units continue to grow. The company said it maintains ample cash, a solid net asset base and positive operating cash inflow.

Medium term, the group aims to restore annual profits to roughly £1.09 billion. Fosun bought Wolves for £30 million in 2016. A grim season has left the club bottom of the Premier League, with relegation to the Championship viewed as a near certainty.
