Wolves have reached a verbal agreement to sign Kieran Trippier on a two-year deal with an option of a third. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 35-year-old is set to become their first signing of the summer after leaving Newcastle United at the end of last season.

Head coach Rob Edwards has been central to talks as the club pushed for his signature amid interest from clubs in England and abroad, including some in the Premier League. Trippier will undergo a medical once he returns from his post-season holiday.

Most supporters have welcomed the move during a major rebuild. The club plan to be aggressive in the market and want experience and leadership, qualities Trippier offers.

Wolves have also looked at bringing back striker Raul Jimenez as they seek to rebalance the squad before a Championship promotion push. The agreement follows Andre signing a new contract until 2030, with the Brazilian stating his commitment to stay in the Championship.

Right-back Jackson Tchatchoua is expected to depart after struggling for form following his £10 million move last year. Joao Gomes is in talks to join Atletico Madrid, and further exits are anticipated as the club reset after a dreadful top-flight campaign.

Trippier came through Manchester City, made his name at Burnley and then joined Spurs, where he broke into England’s senior side. He earned 54 caps between 2017 and 2024, scoring his only international goal with a free-kick against Croatia in the 2018 World Cup semi-final. His honours include La Liga with Atletico Madrid in 2020/21 and the 2024/25 Carabao Cup with Newcastle, while he was a Champions League runner-up with Spurs.
