The Premier League's first relegation has been confirmed, with Wolves down after West Ham's 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace.

yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk notes that Leeds received another small boost in their fight to stay up. Leeds ended the weekend eight points above the drop after a 3-0 home win over Wolves, before third-bottom Tottenham Hotspur conceded a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Brighton.

That win left United seven clear of fourth-bottom West Ham, who had a game in hand away to Palace on Monday. The Hammers were chasing a victory that would move them four clear of danger.

West Ham largely controlled periods, with Jarrod Bowen a persistent threat, but Palace finished the stronger as they pushed for a winner. It ended 0-0, giving the Hammers a point and leaving Spurs two points adrift of safety.

The outcome confirmed Wolves' mathematical relegation. Their maximum possible tally is now 33 points, one fewer than fourth-bottom West Ham's current total of 33.
