Diaz is the obvious example. Liverpool didn't bring in anyone to fill the void he would leave. Even though last season he was the only player in the team who could regularly take on his opponents in one vs one situations, Liverpool decided not to buy and out and out replacement for him.
Instead, there was a decision to promote Rio Ngumoha to the first-team. Whether this was Arne Slot's decision or from the boardroom is moot.
However, it's clear that Ngumoha is getting nowhere near the same minutes as Diaz did. Slot right now simply doesn't seem to think he's ready to play.
That's normal. Ngumoha is 17-years-old. You'd have to be a super talent to be ready at that age.
But it does mean Liverpool need to find a replacement for Diaz and it looks like that could happen in the January transfer window.
