Maxence Lacroix and Jean-Philippe Mateta arrived at Clairefontaine in the afternoon to begin France's 2026 World Cup preparations, taking the group to 20 players. The pair won the Conference League with Crystal Palace on Wednesday, beating Rayo Vallecano 1-0, with Mateta scoring.
According to L'Équipe, France have started their camp quietly at Clairefontaine. The 18 players already in camp trained in the morning, with a heavy physical block followed by possession work.
With PSG in the Champions League final, the squad are watching the match at the Clairefontaine château on Saturday evening, either together or in small groups.
The six remaining call-ups involved in the Champions League final, Lucas Hernandez, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé and William Saliba, are expected on Tuesday morning, before lunch with Emmanuel Macron.
On Sunday, France continue their opening phase with a morning session and a second at 17:00. Two players are scheduled for a press conference at 16:00.
