Wrexham have condemned sexist and misogynistic abuse aimed at their women’s team and warned offenders face bans after the side sealed the Welsh top-flight title.

The team beat Cardiff 4-1 at the SToK Cae Ras on Sunday, clinching a first championship and a place in next season’s Champions League qualifying. The club said in a statement that discrimination would not be tolerated and that any identified supporters would be banned from all Wrexham AFC sites.

The remarks were deemed incompatible with football, the club and society, and not to reflect the widespread support behind the team. The focus remains on celebrating the players and growing the women’s game, with unequivocal backing for players and staff.

Professionalism, character and success were highlighted as deserving celebration. A commitment was set out to protect players and to maintain an inclusive, welcoming and respectful environment for all.

The Genero Adran Leagues also condemned the abuse after a magnificent occasion for women’s football in Wales, the season’s highest-attended fixture. Its stance is that such comments have no place in the game and that those responsible are not welcome at clubs or stadia.
