Gonzalo Garcia’s amazing run at the FIFA Club World Cup has caught everyone’s attention. His form has been so good that he has given Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso a real problem to solve.
This is because Kylian Mbappe is back to full fitness just in time for the quarter-final match against Borussia Dortmund.
Gonzalo stepped in perfectly when Mbappe was unexpectedly ruled out. He fit exactly into Alonso’s game plan as a centre forward who keeps defenders busy and is always a threat inside the box.
Thanks to his performances, the 21-year-old has won over not just Alonso but also the fans. But now that Real Madrid are getting ready for their crucial quarter-final clash, Alonso seems positive about Mbappe’s return to the starting line-up.
This leaves the coach with a big decision: stick with the in-form Gonzalo or bring back the superstar Mbappe.

The situation is tricky, as Gonzalo has been key in getting Real Madrid to this stage, and many believe it would be unfair to drop him now.
His effort and goal-scoring have helped the team, and he is fighting for the Golden Boot at the Club World Cup.
On the other hand, Mbappe’s presence on the pitch is unmatched when it comes to scaring rival defences. However, some worry that his lack of defensive work could hurt the team’s balance, something Gonzalo has helped maintain.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Mbappe and the other players who did not start against Juventus trained at the Gardens North County District in Palm Beach. They focused on being ready for the big game against Borussia Dortmund.
Now, all eyes are on Alonso as he decides whether to reward Gonzalo’s incredible efforts or rely on Mbappe’s star power. The quarter-final promises to be intense, and Alonso’s choice could make all the difference.
