Tottenham playmaker Xavi Simons has dropped a huge hint over the impending arrival of former PSV teammate Savinho to north London from Manchester City.

Spurs are in talks with City over the summer signing of Savinho, who has been deemed surplus to requirements by executives at the Etihad Stadium after a disappointing 2025-26 season for the Brazilian.

Savinho attracted interest from Tottenham last summer but Manchester City blocked a transfer for the 22-year-old winger, who went on to sign a new deal till 2031 in the north-west.

However, after struggling for minutes under recently departed City manager Pep Guardiola in the recent campaign, the Blues are ready to cash in on the attacker for the right price as talks progress between all parties over a transfer.

City are believed to value Savinho at £60 million and after another underwhelming Premier League campaign that saw Spurs narrowly escape relegation, the north Londoners are expected to have a busy transfer window.

With negotiations ongoing between Manchester City director of football Hugo Viana and his Tottenham counterparts, Spurs playmaker Xavi Simons has taken to Instagram to drop a major hint over an upcoming reunion with former PSV teammate Savinho.

Savinho is understood to have given the go ahead to move down south after his second season in the Premier League, where he failed to get regular minutes under his belt and only impressed in flashes amid stiff competition in the wide attacking areas for City.

How will Man City replace Savinho?

There is an argument that City have replaced Savinho before his exit, having added Antoine Semenyo to their attacking roster from Bournemouth in January and the Ghana international making a splendid start to life at the Etihad Stadium.

However, City are understood to be monitoring the transfer market for possible reinforcements in attack and should Savinho move to Tottenham, Viana and incoming manager Enzo Maresca are expected to assess the acquisition of a like-for-like replacement.

There is uncertainty over the future of Omar Marmoush, who has interest from Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, and should the Egyptian follow Savinho through the exit door, City would have a strong case for investing in the market.
