FC Barcelona emerged victorious against Elche in La Liga, securing a much-needed win away from home. With these three points, the Catalan giants temporarily move four points clear at the top of the table.

Goals from Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Marcus Rashford sealed a 3–1 victory for La Blaugrana. It was a strong collective performance, although the scoreline could have been even more convincing had Barcelona shown greater clinical efficiency in front of goal.

Below are the player ratings for Hansi Flick’s side.

Starting XI:

Joan Garcia: 6.5/10

Hardly tested by the opposition, but his distribution was reliable. Moreover, he could not do much about the only goal he conceded.

Jules Kounde: 7.0/10

Ended up being substituted due to some kind of discomfort, but played a solid game overall. His runs to help Lamine Yamal were consistent, and he tracked back regularly to tend to his defensive duties.

Pau Cubarsi: 7.0/10

Played some clever passes through the middle and dealt with the Elche forwards well for most of the game. Decent performance from the young centre-back.

Eric Garcia: 7.5/10

Always intense in his duels and did well to keep Elche at bay while operating as a central defender. Even when he was moved to the right-back position, the Spaniard did well considering his new duties.

Alejandro Balde: 7.5/10

Brilliant performance from the young Spanish left-back, he was too fast for Elche to catch most of the time, and was sharp as well. His progressive runs were a joy to watch.

Frenkie de Jong: 8.5/10

Top performance from the Dutch midfielder, who controlled the tempo of the game perfectly. Even beyond that, his runs in behind and his technical ability were on full display in this game. Provided a beautiful assist as well to Ferran Torres.

Dani Olmo: 8.0/10

Despite playing in a deeper role than usual, Dani Olmo was clearly enjoying himself. Provided a sensational assist to Lamine Yamal to open the scoring, and his composure was notable as well.

Lamine Yamal: 9.0/10

Completely ran the show for Barcelona for much of this game, and even opened the scoring for the team with a great goal. His runs off the ball, defensive workrate, dribbling, and chance creation in general were immense as well.

Fermin Lopez: 6.5/10

A quiet game by his explosive standards, and he seemed a bit too lethargic at times. However, at least initially, he showed good intensity and showed up to offer options to his teammates.

Raphinha: 6.0/10

Had to be taken off at halftime due to some kind of discomfort, and his first-half showing was not exactly ideal. However, he did have a few moments of magic here and there.

Ferran Torres: 6.5/10

Scored a good goal, but his finishing was immensely frustrating today. Should have done much better with other chances, although he had a few instances of good link-up play with his teammates.

Substitutes:

Marcus Rashford: 7.0/10

Came on in the second half and looked explosive. Missed an easy chance to score, but did manage to find the back of the net later on.

Marc Bernal: 6.5/10

Looked comfortable on the ball whenever he had it and was always aware of his surroundings and teammates as well.

Robert Lewandowski: 6.0/10

Solid display from the Polish ace, but he should have done better with some of the opportunities that came his way.

Marc Casado: N/A

Not enough time or influence on the game to warrant a rating.
