FC Barcelona wrap up their final home game of the season after having played Villarreal. A meaningless game for the Catalan giants, but still one that they tried to win. Unfortunately for Barcelona, the game ended in defeat for them despite getting to present their titles to the fans.
Having already secured La Liga, it was to be expected that the team’s performance would not be at their best for this game. Still, the match ended with a 2-3 loss for Barcelona, and the goals for Hansi Flick’s team came from Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez.
Here are the player ratings for the Barcelona players.
Player Ratings:
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen: 5.0
The German goalkeeper yet again had a game to forget as he conceded some less than ideal goals. However, at this rate, Barcelona should not be considering him as their first choice goalkeeper heading into next season.
Eric Garcia: 7.5
Strong in his duels and always looking to contest for everything, Eric Garcia had a solid outing. Managed to get an assist as well, although most of the work for that was done by Lamine Yamal himself.
Pau Cubarsi: 7.5
Made some surreal passes from the back and they initiated some great plays for Barcelona. Simply a step ahead of everyone else when it comes to that quality of his, and was defensively solid as well.
Inigo Martinez: 7.0
Decent outing for the veteran defender, who was consistent with his passing and also strong in his duels.
Gerard Martin: 6.5
Solid enough first half for the Spanish defender, as he managed to hold his own rather well. Unfortunately, however, it was clearly visible that his technical quality was simply not at a level where Barcelona could gain a lot of benefit from it. He was replaced at half-time later on.

Gavi: 7.0
Energetic and as sharp as anyone on the ball, Gavi had a decent game in terms of his play on the ball. However, had to do a lot more defensive work in this game.
Pedri: 8.5
Simply sublime, the Spanish midfielder was almost always two steps ahead of everyone else on the pitch. His touches were sharp, his vision was there, and he almost never looked to be in any sort of trouble when the ball was at his feet.
Lamine Yamal: 9.0
He simply is the best player in the world right now and there is no denying that fact. Able to create something magical out of absolutely nothing at all, there is nothing too difficult for Lamine Yamal to do with the ball at his feet. Scored a sensational goal for Barça here as well.
Fermin Lopez: 8.5
Always looking to make a difference, Fermin Lopez was constantly there to thwart Villarreal whenever possible. Scored a sensational goal as well for Barcelona.
Raphinha: 6.5
Not at his best, and could not make a major difference for the team. However, it was expected that most players would not exactly be at their very best during this game considering the context of the match.
Robert Lewandowski: 6.5
Nullified rather well by Villarreal but he was not at his sharpest either. Lost the ball way too easily and also struggled to make a real difference in the box with the few chances that did come his way.
Substitutes:
Alejandro Balde: 7.0
Consistent enough with his passes and runs. Not much he did wrong during the game.
Frenkie de Jong: 7.0
Brought some energy into the game and his control over proceedings was there to see. A bit slow to reach when trying to keep up with his man at times, but had a decent performance otherwise.
Hector Fort: N/A
Not enough influence or time in the game to warrant a rating.
Pau Victor: N/A
Not enough influence or time in the game to warrant a rating.
Dani Olmo: N/A
Not enough influence or time in the game to warrant a rating.
