FC Barcelona barely miss out on a potentially historic ‘remontada’ against Atletico Madrid. Despite being away from home, and with all the odds lined up against them, the Catalan giants did well to put up a fight.
A 2-1 victory away from home, it was unfortunately not enough to mount a comeback. Still, goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres initiated something special, and the fighting spirit of this team is truly amazing and they fought their way through until the very end.
Here are the player ratings for Barça.

Joan Garcia: 8.0/10
Had it not been for Joan Garcia, this scoreline would not have been as close as it was. Top performance from the Spaniard, and he could not do much about the goal that he ended up conceding.
Jules Kounde: 6.5/10
His passing was consistent and he did well enough to hold his ground on the right flank. However, he should have done better to mark the Atletico Madrid forward who ended up scoring for the opposition.
Eric Garcia: 5.0/10
The Spaniard had a solid game for much of the game, and he did well to win his duels and his distribution was solid as well. Unfortunately, his late red card simply put Barça in a very bad situation.
Gerard Martin: 7.0/10
Did well to contest and win most of his duels, and his passing was elite as well. Good performance from the Spanish defender, who held his own quite well during this game.
Joao Cancelo: 6.0/10
An underwhelming performance by his standards, the Portuguese full-back clearly needed to do more. Unfortunately, this was not a notable display from him.
Gavi: 7.0/10
Delivered a great fight from start to finish, and the Spanish midfielder proved that he has the quality and drive to help this team when he is needed. Decent outing from him.
Pedri: 7.0/10
Decent in possession, the Spaniard did well to keep a hold of the game. However, Barcelona needed him to do more in terms of creating chances for the rest of his teammates.
Lamine Yamal: 9.0/10
Scored the opening goal and continuously created chance after chance for his teammates. They should have done better with the opportunities he created, and he could have done better in other situations himself as well.
Dani Olmo: 7.5/10
Provided a great assist to Ferran Torres for his goal, but he should have been much more composed in other situations. A solid outing, but this kind of night needed more from him.
Fermin Lopez: 6.5/10
Played through a bad injury, and continued to pile on the pressure on the opposition. However, he should have done better to score from the chance that Lamine Yamal created for him.
Ferran Torres: 8.5/10
Provided a great assist to Lamine Yamal, and then scored a brilliant goal himself as well later on. Also managed to score another goal after that, but it was ruled out due to offside. Great performance from the Spaniard.
