Yan Diomande joins RB Leipzig camp in Austria as Real Madrid talks continue; no green light for medicals | OneFootball

Real Madrid target Yan Diomande has officially arrived at RB Leipzig’s pre-season training camp in Austria, reports Florian Plettenberg.

The 19-year-old forward has fully fit into the squad again after recovering from the infection that forced him to report in sick and miss the team’s initial travel plans alongside their recent friendly match against SC Verl.

Advanced negotiations with Real Madrid

Despite his integration back into the German club’s active pre-season routine, transfer negotiations with Real Madrid are not in any danger of collapsing.

Talks between the two European sides remain highly advanced, with the total package for the teenage talent expected to significantly exceed €120 million.

The proposed financial structure comprises a heavy fixed fee alongside performance-related variables, a sum that would make the young Ivory Coast international one of the most expensive acquisitions in the history of the Spanish club.

Reports indicated that a breakthrough was achieved yesterday between the two clubs and that an announcement was imminent.

However, Diomande has not yet been given the definitive green light from RB Leipzig management to leave the camp and undergo his mandatory medical examinations with Real Madrid.

The transfer saga is not completely over yet, as both clubs continue to work through the final details before the deal can be formally signed.

Diomande intent on move

Diomande remains very keen on completing his move to the Santiago Bernabeu, having already verbally agreed to personal contract terms with Real Madrid that run until June 2030.

In fact, he even rejected the possibility of joining PSG, who tried to work out a swap deal with RB Leipzig involving Ibrahima Mbaye.

While he has travelled to Austria to respect his current club duties, his main focus is to protect his physical fitness and avoid any risk of structural injury before the final clearance is granted.

Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho wants to integrate the winger into his frontline plans as quickly as possible.

All parties expect the remaining details to be resolved over the coming days, allowing the player to fly to Spain for his medical and official presentation.
