Yuri Alberto equals Neto in Corinthians scoring list with 80 in 1-1 draw | OneFootball

Corinthians drew 1-1 with Flamengo at Neo Química Arena on Sunday, Yuri Alberto netting the equaliser from Matheus Bidu’s pass inside the box.

According to Meu Timao, the strike moved him alongside midfielder Neto in 25th on Corinthians’ all-time scoring list with 80. Neto needed 228 matches to reach the tally, Alberto has arrived there in 10 fewer. The next name is Gambarotta on 82, with Cláudio Christóvam out in front on 306.

This was Alberto’s second appearance since returning from a grade 2 injury to the biceps femoris in his left thigh. He sustained the problem against São Bernardo on 15 February and spent about a month out. Since coming back he has completed 180 minutes and scored once.

Despite the lay-off, he remains Corinthians’ leading scorer this season with four goals in 11 games.

With the FIFA international window, he now has until 1 April to recover further before facing Fluminense at the Maracanã in the ninth round of the Brasileirão.
