Yuri Alberto admitted he wants a mid-year move to Europe after Corinthians beat Barra 1-0 at the Neo Química Arena to reach the Copa do Brasil last 16, while stressing his gratitude for the backing he receives from the Fiel.
According to Meu Timao, he recalled a moment when Chay, ex-BBB, embraced him and pleaded with him to stay, adding that he feels a deep connection with supporters built over recent years.
At the club since 2022, the striker has played 231 games, with 198 starts, delivering 103 wins, 60 draws and 68 defeats. He lifted the 2025 Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil, plus the 2026 Supercopa do Brasil. Individually he has 82 goals, 23 assists and a record 51 strikes at the Neo Química Arena.
He said age is weighing on his decision, noting that at 25 opportunities to return to Europe could narrow. Talks with the club and his agent are planned for the World Cup break to set a strategy.
His contract runs until 22 July 2030. The release clause is R$500 million for Brazilian clubs and €100 million for abroad, about R$630 million.
Corinthians own 50 percent of his economic rights, with Zenit holding the other 50 percent. Agent André Cury has participation clauses that could see 10 percent of profit, or 5 percent of a fee, passed on in any sale.
He also voiced a World Cup ambition and said Italy is an option for the 2030 cycle if Brazil does not call. He travelled to Italy in January to finalise an Italian passport and has come onto the Italian federation’s radar during their rebuild. Still under contract, he should be available to Fernando Diniz for Sunday’s 16:00 trip to Botafogo at Nilton Santos in round 16 of the Brasileiro.
