Zenit ‘to consider’ mid-year sale of Luiz Henrique amid Flamengo doubts over Gonzalo Plata | OneFootball

Gonzalo Plata is enduring an uncertain spell at Flamengo, with limited minutes under Leonardo Jardim and omission from the Corinthians matchday squad. A possible exit for the Ecuadorian has come into focus.

ESPN reports that Zenit do not rule out selling former Botafogo forward Luiz Henrique mid-year, seeking at least 40 million euros, R$ 241.4 million.

Jardim and his staff have given the green light for Flamengo to negotiate Plata after the World Cup. However, the head coach wants another forward signed before any sale.

Plata has played 82 matches for Flamengo, scoring eight goals and providing 10 assists since the second half of 2024. Under Jardim, he has only featured late on in two of the five games to date.

After the 1-1 draw with Corinthians on Sunday 22, Jardim explained leaving Plata out. He said the winger is struggling to integrate with his approach and that selection now demands strong concentration, attitude and significant physical commitment.
