After yesterday’s Champions League final loss to PSG, Inter Milan must contemplate the prospect that this season has been a complete failure.

However, today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, argue that this is not quite the case.

Inter Milan fell to the most humiliating of defeats in the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain yesterday.

The Nerazzurri looked completely out of their depth. In truth, there was nothing harsh about the 5-0 scoreline by which PSG ran out winners.

Moreover, this was Inter’s last opportunity to take home silverware this season. Accordingly, there was a real sense that this season, Inter crashed and burned.

Does Humiliation Vs PSG Make This Season A Failure For Inter?

In the view of Tuttosport, however, the ending to this season cannot define the campaign as a whole.

Through much of the season, Inter Milan have shown themselves to be a highly formidable team.

Nowhere was this more the case than in their Champions League knockout wins over Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

Those victories crowned a season which saw Inter at their very best in Europe.

The disappointment in domestic competitions put a lot of pressure on Inter in the latter stages of the Champions League.

Up until the final, the Nerazzurri responded to that pressure. Spectacularly falling at the final hurdle has certainly changed the mood. But it hasn’t totally erased what Inter achieved.
