2 Real Madrid stars included in statistical World Cup Team of the Round | OneFootball

A pair of players from La Liga giants Real Madrid secured for themselves places in the statistic-based Team of the Round-of-32 at the World Cup.

The Blancos stars in question? Marc Cucurella, and Kylian Mbappé.

Beginning with the former, left-back Cucurella played a starring role, as Spain booked their spot in the competition’s Last-16 at the expense of Austria.

En route to a 3-0 triumph for La Roja, the new arrival at the Bernabéu ran rampant down the left wing, laying on the assists for two of his country’s three goals.

And joining Cucurella in the TOTR is new teammate Kylian Mbappé.

Frontman Mbappé has of course been in top form in North America this summer, looking back to his absolutely explosive best.

In turn, it did not come as a major surprise to see the 27-year-old prove himself decisive once more in France’s 3-0 drubbing of Sweden. Mbappé was on target to the tune of a brace, to take his tally for the 2026 World Cup to six goals all told.

The attacker and Cucurella, in turn, have joined the likes of Lionel Messi and Amad Diallo in statisticians Sofascore’s latest Team of the Round:
