Although Hansi Flick has a very competitive team under his command, the FC Barcelona squad can still undergo a significant change in some areas in the upcoming summer transfer window.

One such area is the center-forward, as Robert Lewandowski is in the last year of his contract, and it is not yet clear whether he will continue at the Catalan club going forward.

In such a context, the Catalan side has been linked with several names in the market for this position, and seemingly, this list is only growing further.

According to Matteo Moretto in La Pizarra de Quintana, one of the latest names to emerge on Barcelona’s radar is Atlético Madrid striker Alexander Sørloth.

The Norwegian forward has become an interesting option for the Blaugrana sporting department as they evaluate different profiles that could fit into Hansi Flick’s tactical approach.

Sørloth is under contract with Atlético Madrid until 2028 and has a release clause set at 35 million euros. While he is not an undisputed starter under Diego Simeone, he remains an important rotational figure and has delivered consistent contributions in terms of goals and physical presence throughout the season.

What makes his profile particularly relevant for Barcelona is his adaptability and direct style of play in the final third, qualities that could offer a different dimension to the team’s attacking structure. His experience in La Liga also adds to his appeal, as it would reduce adaptation time in case of a potential move.

Barcelona are also aware of the €20 million-rated Norwegian striker’s record against them, which has been notably impactful. Sørloth has scored seven goals in fifteen appearances against the Catalan side during his career, including a decisive role in recent encounters.

He found the net in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final tie and was involved in a key moment in the second leg that led to Eric García’s sending off.

At this stage, the interest remains at an early monitoring level, but his name is now firmly part of the broader discussion as Barcelona continue to shape their plans for a potential transition in the center forward position ahead of the summer window.
