On Sunday, Alberto Moreno’s time as a Villarreal player came to an end. The 31-year-old now embarks on a new chapter in his career, and for his next move, he will not be short of options. He’s already had a contract proposal from Fenerbahce, who are now managed by Jose Mourinho.
However, as revealed by Relevo, Moreno is dragging his feet with Fenerbahce, who had been hoping to wrap up a deal in the next few days. The left-back is holding out for a move to a La Liga club, and he could have options in the coming weeks.
Mallorca have Moreno on their list to reinforce the left-back position, which has been left vacant following Johan Mojica’s return to Villarreal. Furthermore, Celta Vigo are keeping an eye on him too, and he could be a replacement for Manu Sanchez, who has been linked with Real Betis recently.
It remains to be seen where Moreno ends up for next season. Fenerbahce may be best-placed for now, but they may not be in the near future.
