5 Real Madrid academy talents called up to senior training by Xabi Alonso | OneFootball

A whole host of up-and-coming talents at La Liga giants Real Madrid were on Sunday called up to train with the club’s senior squad.

That’s according to Blancos insider Mario Cortegana, who has provided an insight into the latest ongoings in Spain’s capital.

Real Madrid are of course currently in the thick of preparations for the new La Liga campaign.

Fresh off a shortened holiday owing to their endeavours at the Club World Cup, the capital heavyweights have reconvened at Valdebebas with sights on an opening day clash with Osasuna on August 20th.

Across the week to date, a number of youth team players have been afforded the chance to impress with Xabi Alonso’s star-studded squad.

And as alluded to above, on Sunday, the case proved no different.

As per a report from the aforementioned Mario Cortegana:

‘Many youth players present at the first team’s training session, including (Jesús) Fortea, (Kike) Ribes, (Víctor) Valdepeñas and (José) Reyes. The youngest, Diego Lacosta (2008).’
