Crystal Palace star and Chelsea transfer target Marc Guehi believes the Blues have a player in their squad who the “sky is the limit for.”

The Blues were linked with a move for Guehi in January, but they opted against making an offer and look to set to revisit the deal in the summer.

The England international will only have a year left on his deal and his price will come right down, with the Blues said to be keen on bringing him back to Stamford Bridge.

Guehi praises current Chelsea star

Chelsea are struggling right now, and are on a run of just three wins in their last 11 league games, but they do have a squad packed with talent.

In a recent interview Guehi had to pick who he felt currently was the most promising young defender in the game from a list of Dean Huijsen, Leny Yoro, Pau Cubarsi and Levi Colwill.

“They all have top futures because they’re all top players,” he told Sky Sports.

“I’ll go for Levi just because I know him, I’ve known him and I’ve been around him and I know what he’s capable of.

“Honestly the sky is limit for him, so yeah I’m going to go Levi.”

Colwill has come in for criticism for his performances this season, and has made a few costly errors leading to goals

The 21-year-old still lacks experience and is perhaps suffering from not having Thiago Silva along side him, whilst Jason Cundy feels he’s currently learning on the job.

Colwill certainly has the attributes to become a top defender, but still has deficiencies in his game which you’d expect at his age.

The academy graduate has been earmarked as a potential future club captain by Enzo Maresca, and he will certainly benefit from Wesley Fofana returning to the side, with the duo Maresca’s first choice defensive partnership.
