Leicester City are looking to bring in a new manager at the end of the season after their relegation to League One.
They are looking at multiple candidates, and Gary Rowett is currently in charge on a short-term basis. He will move on eventually, and several names are under consideration as the Foxes look to rebuild the team and bounce back next season.
They have been linked with a move for the former Manchester United player Darren Ferguson in recent weeks. Ferguson is the son of Sir Alex Ferguson, and Leicester City have recently contacted the 54-year-old.
According to a report from talkSPORT, he is open to taking the Leicester City job following their relegation, and it remains to be seen whether all parties can finalise an agreement quickly.
The manager was recently shown the door by Peterborough United after a run of results. He will be hoping for another opportunity to showcase his managerial qualities, and Leicester City could be an interesting option. Ferguson guided Peterborough to an EFL Trophy final win over Birmingham last season.
The Foxes will be desperate to bounce back strongly next season. A club of their stature will not want to compete in League One for the long term. They will look to get back up quickly.
They will need to get the managerial decision spot on in the summer. They have quality players at their disposal, and the right manager can bring out the best in them and help them push for promotion.
They are preparing for a crucial new chapter in their history, and it remains to be seen whether Ferguson is the right man to guide them back to the Championship next season.
