Whether an experienced player of the game mode or not, everybody should know about the importance of signing young players, as they can go on to develop and shine on the biggest stages for your teams.

Football League World takes a look at eight second-tier wonderkids who will be fantastic signings to make once FC 26 is released.

Rayan Kolli - Queens Park Rangers - FWD

Born in West London but representing Algeria internationally, the 20-year-old winger enjoyed a breakthrough 24/25 campaign, netting four goals in 20 league appearances.

Despite playing ten league games two seasons ago as well, by Kolli's own admission, a "real breakthrough is hitting 10 or 15 goals", he told Sky Sports.

With this being said, it might be worth prising him away from the R's in your career mode save if you want a young forward who's hungry to score goals.

Mihailo Ivanovic - Millwall - ST

Serbian striker Ivanovic joined Millwall from Vojvodina for a then-club record fee of around £2.8m.

At 20 years old, Ivanovic made 37 league appearances during his debut season in English football and scored 13 goals.

Being described as "young, powerful, athletic and quick" by the Lions' Director of Football Steve Gallen, Ivanovic will surely represent excellent value for money as a young striker who's already shown he's capable of leading the line.

Pierce Charles - Sheffield Wednesday - GK

Having already appeared 8 times for Northern Ireland's senior team, Pierce Charles is arguably the best young goalkeeper in the Championship.

Charles' rapid rise from Sheffield Wednesday academy prospect to first-team regular - albeit he picked up a shoulder injury in August - suggests his potential in Career Mode will be so high..

For someone who won Wednesday's Player of the Month award for April 2025, the 20-year-old is certainly an excellent long-term goalkeeping option for your saves, quite literally.

Nestory Irankunda - Watford - FWD

Yes, the 19-year-old Australian winger just signed for Watford from Bayern Munich, but he's likely to be well worth the wait.

Irankunda has made an immediate impact at Vicarage road with two free-kick goals and one assist in his first four Championship appearances. It's also worth noting he nearly scored another set-piece whilst on international duty with the Socceroos.

He broke the A-League transfer record when moving to Bayern Munich from Adelaide United, and would be higher on this list if you didn't have to wait to sign him.

Abdul Fatawu - Leicester City - RW/LW

Despite suffering a serious ACL injury in November 2024 that ruled him out for the rest of the Premier League Season, Fatawu has been on fire in the second-tier following Leicester City's relegation.

Scoring two goals in his opening four league games so far this season, he helped the Foxes win the Championship title when initially on loan from Sporting CP two seasons ago.

Ranked fourth because he's likely to cost you an arm and a leg, Fatawu was reportedly wanted by Sunderland in the summer window and subsequently valued at around £30m.

Isaac Price - West Bromwich Albion - CAM

Like the aforementioned Charles, Isaac Price is a full Northern Ireland international - and has scored three goals in his first four Championship games, whilst also providing one assist.

The 21-year-old Everton academy graduate was playing for Belgian outfit Standard Liege before his £2.5m move to the Baggies in January 2025.

As such an important attacking midfielder, there's no doubt that West Brom will be desperate to keep hold of him in Career Mode, but bigger clubs will have the money to tempt them - making him a must-have signing.

Jay Robinson - Southampton - CAM

18-year-old Jay Robinson has seemingly softened the blow of Southampton losing Tyler Dibling to Everton for around £40m.

Robinson has started his first four games for the Saints, and scored in a 1-1 draw at Portman Road against Ipswich Town - his first senior goal.

He joined the Hampshire club's youth setup as a 12-year-old and played for the U21s at just 15 - which is probably why Southampton tied him down to a long-term contract in April 2025.

With the Saints looking to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt, and Robinson playing regularly, he is the kind of homegrown talent that Career Mode players would love to have in their squad.

Jeremy Monga - Leicester City - RW/LW

The crown jewel of Championship wonderkids for FC 26, Jeremy Monga made history this season by becoming the youngest goalscorer in Championship history at 16 years and 37 days - breaking Jude Bellingham's previous record.

Born in 2009, Monga's talent is undeniable, and it was impossible to not include another Leicester player on this list. He's already represented England at various age groups and currently features for the U19's, alongside Arsenal's Max Dowman and Liverpool's Rio Ngumoah.

With Real Madrid and a number of Premier League sides reportedly monitoring his progress, Monga is perhaps the ultimate Career Mode wonderkid from the Championship.

Each player on this list has shown they can perform at the top-end of Championship level while still having bags of room for future improvement in real life, which is why they make FLW's list of eight wonderkids you must sign on Career Mode.
