The atmosphere surrounding Fiorentina plunged into “total chaos” following the disastrous defeat against Lecce, leading to a day of intense confrontations, forced retreats, and deep administrative turmoil. The crisis is not limited to the bench, as both the coaching staff and the sporting director roles are now in question.

The Managerial Stand-Off (Pioli):

The primary focus of the day was the status of coach Stefano Pioli. Having made it clear he has no intention of resigning, Pioli’s exit is now being pursued by the club through a formal termination or consensual rescission. The club’s leadership is currently locked in negotiations with the coach’s representatives to determine the economic agreement that will finalize his separation. Until a financial consensus is reached, the situation remains unresolved, though the eventual split seems certain.

The Administrative Vacuum (Pradè):

Adding to the instability, Sporting Director Daniele Pradè has tendered his resignation, leaving a significant vacancy in the technical hierarchy. Technical Director Roberto Goretti is currently emerging as the main candidate to fill the vacant Sporting Director role, though internal solutions like youth sector manager Valentino Angeloni are also being considered.

The Team and the Retreat:

Following the loss, the entire team, coaching staff, and remaining management were sent into a punitive training retreat at the Viola Park complex. The team was briefly allowed to return home to collect personal effects but was ordered to return to the Viola Park bunker for the continuation of the retreat, which is set to last until their departure for the Conference League match against Mainz. This period is being used to facilitate confrontation and reflection among the club, the staff, and the players.

Successor Search:

In parallel with the exit negotiations, the club is exploring options for a replacement. Paolo Vanoli remains the most advanced name, but others like Roberto D’Aversa and Alessandro Nesta have also surfaced, alongside the possibility of appointing Primavera coach Daniele Galloppa as a temporary solution.
