Barcelona’s supporters have on Sunday moved to lavish praise on a member of the club’s loan army.

The player in question? Iñaki Peña.

Goalkeeper Peña for his part departed Barcelona over the summer, linking up with newly-promoted Elche on a season-long loan.

This evening, the Spaniard was in turn afforded his latest start, as Elche welcomed Real Madrid to Alicante for a league clash.

And to date, Peña has enjoyed an outing to remember.

With the evening’s hosts in possession of a surprise 1-0 advantage, the 26-year-old has played a starring role in holding Real Madrid at bay.

Peña has conjured up a number of superb saves, with one particular reaction stop to keep out Kylian Mbappé from close range having drawn widespread praise.

And as alluded to above, such heroics have not gone at all unnoticed back in Catalunya’s capital.
