This Saturday, Barcelona will face one of their toughest tests of the season with a home game against Atletico Madrid in La Liga.
The match promises to be a significant challenge for the Blaugrana, who are coming off a difficult period in the league.
They have only managed to pick up five points from their last 18 available, a run that includes two defeats in their last two games at home.
Barcelona lost 1-2 to UD Las Palmas and then fell 0-1 to Leganes last Sunday, which has put a dent in their hopes of staying at the top of the table.
On the other hand, Atletico Madrid are in excellent form. The team has won 11 consecutive matches across La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Champions League.
They have also made significant progress in closing the gap to Barcelona, reducing it by 10 points in just five games.
However, despite their strong run, they will face a tough test, as manager Diego Pablo Simeone has never managed to defeat Barcelona at their stadium since he took charge of the club.

Simeone has faced Barcelona 25 times in La Liga, and his record against them is not flattering. He has only won two of those encounters, both at Atletico’s home ground.
The first victory came in the 2020-21 season with a 1-0 win, and the second was a 2-0 triumph in the 2021-22 campaign.
Since then, Simeone has struggled against Barcelona, losing the last five games in a row, all of which were under Xavi Hernandez’s management.
Xavi had a remarkable record against Atletico, winning all of his encounters with Simeone’s side in recent seasons. In his first match against Atletico, Xavi led his team to a 4-2 victory.
The following season, Barcelona won both league fixtures against Atletico, first with a 1-0 win at the Wanda Metropolitano and then another 1-0 victory at the Camp Nou.
Last season, the Blaugrana secured another narrow win, this time with a goal from Joao Felix.
With Barcelona struggling and Atletico in fine form, this upcoming match at Montjuïc is crucial for both teams.
