‘A great father and professional’… Barcelona winger’s wife shares a heartfelt message after his incredible performance against Benfica | OneFootball

The last night was a happy one for FC Barcelona fans as they saw their team secure their way to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League after beating SL Benfica 3-1 in the second leg of the Round of 16 tie and 4-1 on aggregate.

The Blaugrana forward line ran rampant in the initial phase of the game, and their three goals in the first half allowed their team to play the second half at their own pace.

Two of these goals were scored by Raphinha, who first got on the scoresheet in the 11th minute before adding another to his name in the 42nd minute. Thus, he was once again key for Barcelona last night after having been the scorer of the only goal in the first leg against Benfica a week ago.

However, the day had not started in the best of ways for the Brazilian star, as he had to take his son, who was suffering from a cold, to a doctor. Thus, he was unable to travel with the rest of his teammates on the bus, but arrived for the game on his own vehicle.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, these two sides of Raphinha’s personality, as a father and as a player, were highlighted by his wife, Natalia Rodrigues Belloli. The Brazilian model took to social media to praise her husband in the following words:

“I’m very proud of you, my love. From early in the hospital with our boy, and yet you still went back and did your job with great mastery. A great father and professional. We love you.”

This message was shared with a photo of Raphinha with his son, apparently from the hospital. It was quite heart-warming to see the Barcelona star making an effort to oversee his family duties on such an important day professionally and also to see his wife recognise these efforts.
