McGeouch – who came through the ranks at Celtic and featured for the first team – has also faced the club during his spells with Aberdeen and Hibernian.
That experience has given him insight into the influence a lively Celtic Park with the Green Brigade in the stadium can have.
He suggested that opposing teams may have previously benefited from a quieter atmosphere at Celtic Park, where the usual intensity has at times been missing.
With the ultras group now set to return and help generate hopefully a more hostile environment ahead of the remaining four home fixtures at Celtic Park, McGeouch feels it will provide a significant lift for the Hoops while posing an added challenge for their rivals.

Speaking via Glasgow Times, McGeouch said: “A million percent. I guarantee you that opposition managers have referenced the fans having wars with the club, the unrest and that if they can get a goal or a clean sheet the fans will be on top of them.”
“A million per cent they will have been referencing the turmoil and the domestic situation at Celtic. I feel every team will be worried by the news that they’ve managed to put things to the side and they’ll be thinking they’re going to be 100 per cent now – there’s no excuses anymore.”
“I think if you’re an opposition manager coming to Celtic Park now, especially with Rangers and Hearts fighting at the top of the league, they’ll probably be disappointed that they’ve managed to put their differences aside for a couple of weeks.”
The Ballymena midfielder has tipped his former side to go all the way and secure the title, with the return of the Green Brigade seen as an added boost.
He added: “It’s exciting. Even watching from afar, everyone’s talking about it over in Ireland. I didn’t see Celtic dropping off as much as they have. The fact that Martin O’Neill’s come back, I think he’s the only reason Celtic are even in title contention.”
“I actually think Celtic will do it. Just with the fixtures at home, the fans being back… I think Martin might get them over the line. But again, I think I’ve changed my mind about five times.”
“But if I had to put money on it just now, I would say Celtic would just get over the line.”
