In the Servus TV format„Transfer Talk“, the Sky reporter gave an insight into FC Bayern’s internal planning. When asked about a real transfer hot-take, Plettenberg openly explained that the Munich club are working on something big. „Bayern are working on something in the background. How do I put this now?“ the insider began, before becoming clearer: „Bayern are trying to sign a real big name in the background for the summer.“

Plettenberg did not want or was not allowed to reveal more at first. Neither the name of the player nor the exact position should become public. „I’m not allowed to reveal any more than that. I’m also not allowed to reveal the position,“ said the transfer expert. However, these statements alone are revealing, as they indicate that this is not a classic supplementary player, but a real difference-maker

Clear focus on the offense

Plettenberg did let one small detail slip – and it is likely to attract particular attention from Bayern fans. When questioned further, the insider at least specified that the record champions want to strike in attack. „Bayern are definitely planning something top-class in the summer, something spectacular in what could be the final third of the pitch.“

Looking back over the past weeks and months, it is clear that the rumor mill is churning. The record champions have been linked with players such as Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig) and Said El Mala (1. FC Köln) in attack. According to reports, they are primarily looking for another winger for the left flank to support Luis Diaz.
