AC Milan are weighing up a loan move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Radu Dragusin and have initiated contact via the player’s agents, according to Calciomercato.
Despite boasting the third-best defensive record in Serie A this term, the Rossoneri are eyeing reinforcements at the back before the winter transfer window closes next Monday.
Nathan Ake is the prime target, but Manchester City are not open to parting ways with him. Milan are now exploring alternatives and have turned to Dragusin.
Having already laid the groundwork for Mario Gila’s arrival from Lazio in the summer, Milan are unlikely to pursue a permanent deal for Dragusin.
AS Roma and Napoli have also been linked to Dragusin, who made a name for himself in Serie A with Genoa.
Dragusin can play as a centre-back or a right-back, and would offer Milan manager Max Allegri a variety of options.
Milan are also eyeing a new striker. They are keen on Crystal Palace star Jean-Philippe Mateta, who is attracting interest from elsewhere.
A 2-2 draw against Roma last time out extended Milan’s unbeaten league record to 21 matches since an opening-day defeat to newly-promoted Cremonese.
However, they are now five points behind city rivals Inter Milan at the summit with 16 games left to play.
