Alessandro Costacurta feels that Inter Milan are “one of the 6-7 strongest teams in the Champions League.”
The legendary former AC Milan defender gave his thoughts in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInterNews.
Inter now know the path that’s before them in the Champions League.
Next month, the Nerazzurri will face Feyenoord in a two-legged round of sixteen tie.
Then, the likes of Bayern Munich and Barcelona are among the potential opponents Inter could face on their side of the bracket.
Then, on the other side of the bracket there are teams like Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Liverpool.
And it would certainly be fair to say that there are no weak teams left in the Champions League.
All sixteen have gone through a gruelling path to get here, and have shown themselves to be resilient enough to get big results when it’s mattered.
But there are undoubtedly certain teams that are among the favourites.
Real Madrid’s recent history in the Champions League certainly places them near the top of that list.
Then, the domestic and European form of Liverpool makes it difficult to overlook the Merseyside giants.
Legendary former AC Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Costacurta gave his thoughts on the Champions League.
Of Inter Milan, he said that they are “one of the six or seven best teams in Europe.”

“The credit goes to Inzaghi above all,” he continued. “A great coach who often receives unfair criticism.”
Costacurta noted that “Two years ago, amid a storm of controversy after the league defeats, he took them to the final.
“He wants to take them back there,” the former defender added. “But that won’t be easy.”
“These playoffs show how easy it is to slip up in the Champions League.”
