Real Madrid announced their fourth signing of the summer this week as Alvaro Carreras returned home from SL Benfica in a deal worth €50 million.
The 22-year-old left-back is expected to slot into Xabi Alonso’s plans right away, which leaves the club with a decision to make over the futures of Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy.
Mendy’s age, injury problems, and high salary make him the likeliest candidate to be sold, but the Frenchman does not intend to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.
As such, Matteo Moretto now reports that AC Milan have made an enquiry with Real Madrid about their stance on Fran Garcia.
Indeed, the Serie A giants reached out to Los Blancos to ask whether they plan on selling the 25-year-old defender this summer.

Milan are on the hunt for a new left-back following the departure of Theo Hernandez, who has left for the Middle East.
And, it appears that Garcia is a player that the Rossoneri admire, having gotten in touch with Real Madrid to enquire about their plans for the Spaniard’s future.
At this point, however, it is unclear whether Real Madrid are open to selling Garcia or not.
The 25-year-old made a big impression at the FIFA Club World Cup, standing out as one of the major positives for the team under Xabi Alonso.
Garcia still has two years left on his contract which he signed upon returning from Rayo Vallecano back in 2023. Only time will tell if he remains at the Santiago Bernabeu beyond this summer or whether Real Madrid decide to part ways with him.
