Anderlecht could be set to lose Jan-Carlo Simic in the next few days. According to HLN, Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad have made an offer of €20m for the central defender. Anderlecht only paid €3m to sign Simic from AC Milan last summer, with the Italian club due 20% of any sell on fee. Still, even with the sell on fee due to Milan, €20m for Simic is well above his transfer value.

In truth, Anderlecht cannot turn such an offer down. Simic is only 20 so has plenty of time to grow, but he has hardly shown during his time in Belgium that he is a €20m defender at his current level. Anderlecht have already signed another defender in Mihajlo Ilic from Bologna on loan. Iilc has yet to play for the Serie A side having spent last season on loan at Partizan Beograd.

If Simic leaves, he will have made 53 appearances for the Mauves, scoring four goals. This season he has played four games but only two of those have been starts. Having missed out on European football, Anderlecht could certainly benefit from the money Al Ittihad are willing to pay for the former AC Milan defender.
