AC Milan have accelerated their talks to sign Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra, submitting their bid to test the resolve of Los Che.
Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Milan have proposed an offer worth €16 million plus €4 million in add-ons for the Spaniard.
While Los Che are holding out for more than €25m, Milan are working to find a middle ground with the final transfer fee.
The Rossoneri are also confident about striking an agreement, with Guerra keen on a move to San Siro.
The Mestalla graduate has enjoyed swift progress as one of the highly coveted midfielders in La Liga over the last few seasons.
He has been at the heart of Los Che’s midfield, recording eight goals and four assists in 89 appearances.
With his contract expiring in 2027, Valencia are looking to cash in on Guerra to deal with their long-running economic crisis.
The 22-year-old has translated his form to the Spanish national team at the U-21 Euros, producing impressive performances in the wins against Slovakia and Romania.
Milan are in need of midfield reinforcements following Tijjani Reijnders’ move to Manchester City and Yunus Musah’s links with Napoli.
Despite the imminent arrival of former Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric, Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri is looking to add younger names for the long-term project.
The Rossoneri have been in talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka, who has given his go-ahead for a move to San Siro.
Torino’s highly talented midfielder Samuele Ricci is also on Milan’s wishlist.
The Italian giants are also looking to bolster the defence, identifying Parma’s Giovanni Leoni and Fiorentina’s Pietro Comuzzo as potential centre-back targets.
