The striker remains missing after leaving the training center last Saturday.
Ademola Lookman
Ademola Lookman has been unreachable since last Saturday. The Nigerian forward has vanished from Atalanta Bergamo’s radar following his last appearance at the Zingonia training center. No direct contact has been established with the club’s management since that date.
Lookman is currently experiencing maximum tension with his club. The 26-year-old attended the training ground on Saturday to receive treatment for a calf injury, but has not been heard from since. Atalanta’s management has not received any medical certificate justifying his prolonged absence, nor any official message explaining his situation.
The rift between the African Ballon d'Or winner and his club stems from Lookman’s ambition to join Inter Milan. Atalanta’s management had initially agreed in principle to let him leave for a major European side, but categorically refused a move to a direct Serie A rival. This was a stance Lookman himself shared last summer. However, with Inter Milan’s interest on the table, the Nigerian striker has changed his position and now only wants to join the Nerazzurri. Facing a flat refusal from the Lombardy club to let him go, the Nigerian has become determined to push his bosses to the limit.
Lookman has already missed four training sessions. The club is preparing disciplinary action for his unexcused absences and considers his behavior disrespectful. Yet this doesn’t seem to faze the Super Eagles attacker. Meanwhile, Inter Milan is sticking to a wait-and-see strategy, refusing to ramp up negotiations. The Milanese club won’t make a new, improved offer until the exact amount needed to unlock the situation is clarified. Inter’s management prefers to wait for developments rather than immediately raise their bid.
