FC Bayern have deliberately held back on new signings this winter as they look to strengthen their squad next summer. According to the latest reports, the record champions are already working on their first summer deal and are in advanced talks
FC Bayern is pressing ahead with its future plans and is apparently on the verge of signing one of the most exciting US talents born in 2007
As the US portal The Athletic reports, the Munich club are in advanced negotiations with Charlotte FC regarding the transfer of Nimfasha Berchimas. Although a final agreement has not yet been reached, the talks are said to be close to completion. The deal is planned as a preliminary agreement for next summer and is independent of the current transfer window in Germany
The background: Berchimas will not come of age until the end of this month and can therefore only be officially registered for a German club from his 18th birthday. Accordingly, Bayern are under no time pressure to conclude negotiations before the deadline day. Rather, the aim is to secure the services of an internationally sought-after attacking player at an early stage

Berchimas is regarded as one of the biggest talents from Charlotte FC’s youth academy. The winger has already auditioned for several top European clubs, including FC Bayern itself and Manchester United. Other well-known clubs from Europe are also said to have been keeping a close eye on the US youth international. Nevertheless, it is apparently Munich who currently hold the best cards in the race for the youngster
The attacking player represented the USA at the U17 World Cups in 2023 and 2025, scoring four goals in eight games, and his strong performances accelerated his rise to the U20 national team of the United States
Interesting fact: Berchimas already completed a trial at FC Bayern in the summer of 2022
Despite his young age, Berchimas already has considerable match experience. He has made 45 appearances for Charlotte FC’s second team to date, as well as three appearances for the first team’s MLS side. His dynamism, dribbling ability and goal-scoring threat put him on international scouting lists early on
At FC Bayern, Berchimas would be developed via the campus and introduced to the professional squad in the medium term – in line with Munich’s recently intensified youth development strategy.
