The Africa Cup of Nations final in Rabat descended into chaos on Sunday, with Senegal briefly leaving the pitch after a last second penalty was awarded to Morocco.
According to Le Progres, at 90+2 a Senegal goal from a corner was ruled out for a soft foul on Achraf Hakimi, and play continued. Minutes later a contentious incident in the Senegal box led to a VAR check and a penalty.
Confusion then dominated. Several yellow cards were shown and there was friction between the benches, as coach Pape Thiaw urged his players to head for the dressing room in protest. After a lengthy stoppage, amid scuffles in the stands, Sadio Mané called his team back.
Brahim Diaz stepped up for the Morocco penalty, but his panenka was kept out by Edouard Mendy.
At the start of extra time, former Marseille player Pape Gueye put Senegal ahead with a crisp strike.
