Ahead of the start of the new season, Real Madrid have made several signings, especially for the defence, including the recently arrived left-back from Benfica, Alvaro Carreras.

Real Madrid announced the signing of Carreras today and are expected to announce a few more deals soon, the Castilla graduate has been a key part of Benfica's squad for the past few years and has gained a lot of experience during his time in Portugal.

Previously, Benfica rejected an initial offer from Real Madrid to sign the player, but it seems that things were not to be and representatives of the player and Benfica have agreed to the terms of the new offer and the player has officially become a Real Madrid player.

Carreras arrives, other names to leave the team!

When Ferland Mendy's injury opened the door at the Club World Cup, Fran Garcia stepped up - starting all six matches for Real Madrid and flashing moments of real promise. But as the dust settles on their global triumph, the 24-year-old Spaniard faces a harsh reality: with first-team opportunities likely to dry up, his future may lie elsewhere.

Enter AC Milan. The Rossoneri, according to Diario Sport, are preparing a €20 million bid to solve their sudden left-back crisis. Current starter Theo Hernandez - himself a former Madrid man - appears Saudi-bound after accepting a lucrative offer from Al Hilal. For Garcia, it could represent the perfect chance to step out of the shadows and into a starring role at one of Europe's most historic clubs.

As the summer transfer window heats up, all eyes are on whether Madrid will cash in on their academy product - and if Garcia is ready to trade the Bernabéu bench for San Siro spotlight.
