Antonio Conte is known for bringing the best out of individuals and he’s been doing it resoundingly at Napoli. Last season, he transformed Scott McTominay, who was an often criticised deeper midfielder at Manchester United, into a goalscoring matchwinner who led Napoli to the Scudetto last season. This season, he seems to be doing the same with another former United player in Rasmus Højlund, who has 4 goals in 6 games. As per TMW, Conte could be looking at even more out-of-favour players at the Red Devils to ‘fix’. It has been reported that Conte initially wanted Joshua Zirkzee ahead of Højlund. With Romelu Lukaku injured and Lorenzo Lucca yet to settle in, a move in the future cannot be ruled out. The Dutchman is second choice at United currently behind new signing Benjamin Sesko. Another option that could arise is that of young Kobbie Mainoo. A hugely talented midfielder, Mainoo seems to be low down the pecking order for United manager Ruben Amorim. While things could obviously change sooner rather than later, given United’s less-than-sparkling form. A potential move for the Englishman could be hugely tempting to Conte though.
