Agustín Sienra will remain at CD Castellón after signing a three-year contract to 2029. The club, chaired by Haralabos Voulgaris, announced on Tuesday that the Argentine defender has signed the new deal.
In his first season in Europe, Sienra adapted quickly and proved well suited to Castellón’s style. He showed sharp anticipation in the tackle, composure on the ball and the ability to solve problems in open spaces, while covering both centre-back and left-back.
He ended the campaign with a goal in Almería, the temporary 1-2 in the second leg of the play-off semi-final, a strike that stirred hopes among fans. It was his second of the season, the other coming at SkyFi Castalia against Ceuta. In total he played 27 matches, with 21 starts, and he turns 27 in July.
Argentine defenders have been rare in Castellón’s history. The most influential was Fabián Eduardo Bohnhoff, part of the 1988/89 promotion and the 1989/90 survival, with 44 appearances. More recently, Kevin Sibille featured 34 times in 2021/22 in Primera RFEF.
Born in Capitán Bermúdez in 1999, Sienra arrived from Defensa y Justicia. He initially joined on loan until June 2026 with an option to buy, which Castellón have now exercised.
