Artificial Intelligence has offered a forecast for the 2026-27 Premier League, including where Leeds United may finish in their second season back in the top flight.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Google Ask Gemini was asked to predict the final table and explain its reasoning ahead of the new campaign.
Leeds and Sunderland both stayed up last term, breaking the common fate of promoted sides dropping straight back down. Daniel Farke’s team ended 14th, eight points clear, with safety secured with three matches remaining. Sunderland finished seventh to qualify for next season’s Europa League.
It was different for last season’s Championship runners-up Burnley, who went down with Wolves and West Ham. They make way for champions Coventry City, runners-up Ipswich Town and play-offs winners Hull City, all new to the 2026-27 Premier League.
Bookmakers have Coventry, Ipswich and Hull among the favourites to go straight back down, though a second season is often judged trickier than the first. Gemini’s early view of the top six starts with Arsenal in first, backed to retain the title with a young core moving into its peak years.
Manchester City are placed second, a slight dip amid uncertainty after Pep but with peerless squad talent. Liverpool are third as they look to rebound from an underwhelming post-title year. Manchester United are fourth under new direction with Bruno Fernandes expected to flourish, Chelsea fifth with a high ceiling but a need for consistency from Cole Palmer and others, and Aston Villa sixth, tipped to cement a regular European berth.
