The official spokesperson for the Tunisian Football Federation (FTF), Moez Mestiri, has provided details regarding the appointment of Sabri Lamouchi as the new national team head coach. This decision was made following consultations within the federal board, in coordination with sporting director Zied Jaziri and his assistant Khalil Chammam.
“Mestiri stated, in remarks to a private radio station, that contacts with the coach were swift and that he immediately gave his approval, while agreeing to make significant financial concessions.
The head coach will receive a monthly salary estimated at around 100,000 Tunisian dinars, paid in local currency and subject to Tunisian tax regulations.
The FTF spokesperson also denied any prior disputes with the coach, clarifying that the rumors in question were merely a misunderstanding that has now been resolved.
On the technical side, Sabri Lamouchi will have full autonomy in selecting his staff, with the sole requirement that at least one Tunisian member be included in his team.
Finally, the Tunisian Federation is betting on stability. The project will be assessed after AFCON 2027, while the 2026 World Cup is seen as a crucial milestone, with no contractual clauses tied to results.
The Federation’s objective is to ensure stability, with an evaluation of the experience scheduled after AFCON 2027, while the 2026 World Cup is considered a major step, with no contractual clauses linked to results.
