Ajax 0-2 Inter – Thuram: “There’s no problem” after Derby d’Italia drama | OneFootball

Inter forward Marcus Thuram was Football Italia’s man of the match and the match-winner in the Nerazzurri’s 2-0 win over Ajax this evening.

It was the opening match in this season’s Champions League ‘league phase’ and two headers from the French forward were enough to see off the Dutch opposition.

Speaking to Prime after the match, with quotes via FcInterNews, Thuram said on his headers “Thanks to two very well-taken corners by Calhanoglu!”

“We played a great match without conceding,” the Frenchman added, “which was our objective. We’re happy. We knew we had to respond after the Juventus result and we did.”

Inter winner Thuram on Pio Esposito partnership & Derby criticism

Thuram was also asked on his partnership with young forward Francesco Pio Esposito who he played alongside this evening, “He’s very good – all of Italy knows Pio. He’s a fantastic guy. Like Bonny and Lautaro.”

Then, the Frenchman was asked again about the drama after the Derby d’Italia.

Images circulated on social media after Juventus scored their winner that appeared to show Inter’s Thuram alongside his brother, Juventus midfielder Khephren.

Nerazzurri fans were quick to criticise the Frenchman on social networks but tonight the Inter forward said “People can interpret it however they want but they know I’ll give everything for Inter. There’s no problem.”
