Al-Qadsiah challenge Al-Hilal for potential sixth summer signing | OneFootball

Al-Qadsiah have moved to rival Al-Hilal for Al-Taawoun right-back Mohammed Mahzari, a twist that could deny their rivals a sixth summer signing.

According to Goal.com, Al-Qadsiah are in advanced talks with Al-Taawoun, raising the possibility that Al-Hilal could miss out on the 24-year-old.

There had been suggestions of a rift over the move, with Al-Taawoun’s financial demands cited as the sticking point.

Al-Hilal have already secured five arrivals this window. They are Mohammed Al-Owais, Sabri Dahl, Nawaf Al-Habashi, Abdullah Al-Anzi and fellow right-back Mohammed Al-Sarnooh from Al-Fateh.

Mahzari is regarded as one of the standout full-backs in Saudi football. He earned a senior call-up last March to face Serbia, although he missed the 2026 World Cup squad.

He played 35 matches for Al-Taawoun last season across the Saudi Pro League and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, scoring once with two assists.
