Alex Sandro out against Santos, Ayrton Lucas ‘to start’ for Flamengo

Alex Sandro remains sidelined with a muscle injury and will miss Flamengo’s meeting with Santos on Sunday. His absence increases the load on Ayrton Lucas, as they are Flamengo’s only left-backs.

According to Coluna Do Fla, it will be Alex Sandro’s second successive absence, and Leonardo Jardim is expected to start Ayrton Lucas, the number 6, for the second time this season.

In the ninth round against Red Bull Bragantino, Ayrton Lucas did not complete a tackle, was dribbled past once, and made no crosses into the box.

The injury also prompted Alex Sandro’s withdrawal from the Brazil squad in the final week of March, and Flamengo have not set a return date.
