Aliou Dieng marks prospective Valencia move with CAF Champions League equaliser | OneFootball

Aliou Dieng is on course to join Valencia next summer on a free, if nothing goes wrong when the season finishes. According to Superdeporte, the Mali midfielder’s Al Ahly contract ends at the conclusion of the current campaign.

The move would take him to Europe for the first time, and today he scored in Tanzania against Young Africans in the CAF Champions League.

Around the hour mark he reacted to a loose ball in the box after a set piece to bring his side level. A firm finish from close range left the goalkeeper with no chance.

Valencia’s recruitment team, led by Ron Gourlay, have positive reports on Dieng across key areas. They value his ball recovery, tactical profile and scope for development.

Although he lacks experience in the major European leagues and remains relatively young, he is viewed as a fit to add physicality in midfield, aligning with the profile the club have been targeting.
