Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has thrown his full support behind manager Arne Slot, urging fans and teammates to stand united during a turbulent period at Anfield.
With tensions between Mohamed Salah and Slot dominating headlines, the Brazilian shot-stopper has spoken publicly in defense of his manager, insisting that the Dutchman still has the trust of the dressing room.
Slot won the Premier League title with the Reds in his debut season. The Dutch manager replaced Jurgen Klopp at the club and did a wonderful job of delivering instant success.
However, this season has been a complete disaster for him. The manager has failed to inspire his team and get results, despite their heavy spending in the summer transfer window when they signed players like Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike.
The problems increased for the manager when Salah publicly criticised him following the 3-3 draw against Leeds United in the Premier League at the weekend.
Salah, who started the third straight match from the bench against Leeds, accused the club of throwing him under the bus and revealed that his relationship with the manager is broken.
The Reds have dropped Salah from their Champions League clash against Inter Milan.
Ahead of the big match, Alisson voiced his support for the manager. He said, as reported by Fabrizio Romano:
“The Premier League title last season… Looks like everyone takes for granted what we achieved last season. That should be enough but we believe in his knowledge, his style of playing”.

Alisson is one of the leaders of the Liverpool dressing room and his comments may suggest what the other players feel about the ongoing tension between Slot and Salah.
It is a tricky situation for the players, as well as the fans. On one hand, they have a Liverpool legend like Salah who has been a brilliant servant for the club and helped them win the Premier League twice and the Champions League once.
