The Brazil international previously spent two seasons inSerie A with AS Roma, before his £66.8m move to Liverpool in 2018.

According to information fromFabrizio Romano, Alisson 'likes the idea of returning to Italy' but will not push for an exit from Anfield. The 33-year-old is contracted to Liverpool until 2027 after the Reds formally triggered the one-year extension option in his deal last month.

Talks are due to be held with Alisson and Giorgi Mamardashvili over Liverpool's goalkeeping plans for next season.

Mamardashvili moved to Merseyside from Valencia last summer but has spent much of his debut campaign as deputy.

The Georgian goalkeeper has made 17 starts across all competitions, predominantly in Alisson's absence through injury and cup competition. At 25, Mamardashvili is viewed as the long-term number one and Liverpool face a decision on the development of their side.

It promises to be a summer of transition for Liverpool, with Alisson's future uncertain and long-serving stars Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson confirmed departures.

Alisson has been a prominent part of the club's modern success. The goalkeeper has made 332 appearances in all competitions and has won six trophies, including the Champions League and twoPremier League
